Oslo-based quartet Wet Dreams play hard but and catchy fuzzy bastard rock. No bullshit, just pedal-to-the-metal rock.
This band – featuring Norwegian veterans Sebastian Ulstad Olsen (Death By Unga Bunga), Eimund Aadahl (Warp Riders), Per-Richard Ottosen (Warp Riders), and Bendik Pettersen (FOAAAM) – had me already with their first single, “Bad Boy,” a catchy garage punk track that makes you want to drive fast, dance on tables and throw beer cans at people, and what’s not to love about that?
Their self-titled debut is a raw rock ‘n’ roll delight. Just look to “Band Aid,” “Boogie” and ”I Told You / Drugs.” Every song has this catchy drive, like a party you never want to end.
As with all great varied albums, there’s also a few low-tempo songs like “Her” and “Blueslåta,” which both have a more mellow, heavy sound. You feel the beat and you feel the bass, and you just can’t help nodding along to the rhythm.
What I really love about this album is that Wet Dreams don’t try to reinvent the genre – they just play it extremely well. Wet Dreams play straight up rock ‘n’ roll with a modern twist, just how it’s supposed to be done.
