Souldier is the second full-length from French alt-pop star JAIN, best known for catchy, iPhone commercial-ready singles like “Come” and “Makeba.”
As with 2016’s Zanaka, her sound is infectiously playful, original and worldly, and her simple, childlike lyrics work to her advantage. While it lacks the standout cuts of her debut, it’s absolutely worth a listen.
